Archer Daniels Midland Co. said it will not disclose the sum it had put on reserve to cover class-action litigation regarding price manipulation in the lysine industry. On Friday, in federal court in Chicago, Judge Milton I. Shadur said he wanted to know if the company had set aside substantially more than the $25 million proposed settlement which was filed with the court on April 12. The firm said Friday the reserve was lower than the amount of the final settlement and that it was meant to cover legal fees and expenses.
