The Federal Trade Commission alleges that Quaker State Corp. is making false and unsubstantiated advertising claims for Slick 50, the best-selling auto engine treatment in the U.S. Slick 50’s ads claim that compared to motor oil alone, it reduces engine wear and lengthens engine life. The evidence doesn’t back the claims, the FTC says.
