Fine-tuning the summer school program will be one of the goals of the Harvard School District 50 Education Committee this year.

“It’s general knowledge, I was disappointed by the response to the summer school program. I thought it was going to fly,” said committee Chairman Bill Crowe. “Whatever it was lacking, we will fix that.”

The committee was formed more than 18 months ago to bring school administrators, teachers and the public together to work toward improving the curriculum. Along with the summer school program, the committee also brought a building trades program back to Harvard High School and started an agricultural/horticulture/environmental sciences program.

Crowe said he will send out invitations for the committee’s next meeting, scheduled for Oct. 8..

“This is a chance to make your presence known, to give input,” Crowe said.
