Disney wanted Michael Crichton’s latest book very badly. Variety quotes sources as saying Disney gave him $10 million–the most ever paid for book rights–for the yet-to-be-published “Airframe.” Crichton’s “Disclosure” sold for $3.5 million and “Jurassic Park” went for $2 million.
