ServiceMaster Co. L.P. said third-quarter net income jumped 44 percent, to $68.8 million, or 48 cents a share, from $47.7 million, or 40 cents a share, in the year-earlier period, when fewer shares were outstanding.
The Downers Grove-based consumer- and commercial-services firm said quarterly revenue rose more than 8 percent, to $927.2 million from $854.4 million.
For the nine months, net income shot up 42 percent, to $180.6 million, or $1.25 a share, from $126.8 million, or $1.07 a share, in the 1995 period. Revenues climbed 7 percent, to $2.58 billion from $2.41 billion.
