Prosecutors and defense lawyers are scheduled to appear in court Friday to set a date for Chicago Police Officer Gregory Becker’s trial on charges arising from the shooting of Joseph Gould, a homeless man, on July 30, 1995, in the River North area. Becker is charged with armed violence, involuntary manslaughter and official misconduct.
