John Stumm, 91, of Crystal Lake, the former owner of Stumm’s Inn Restaurant of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday in the North Chicago Veterans Hospital in North Chicago. He was born in Germany and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Stumm was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Stars and Stripes 83, American Legion Post 171, VFW Post 5040, Tebala Shriners Temple and a 50-year member of the Masonic Nunda Lodge AF&AM 169. He is survived by his wife, Lena; two stepdaughters, Josephine Pease and Charlene Sands; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Flagg and Son Funeral Home, 2 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
