The Hanover Park Village Board has agreed to grant a special-use permit to Fazoli’s Restaurant, on the north side of Irving Park Road west of Barrington Road, to allow a drive-through facility.
A variation also was granted that will let the restaurant exceed the maximum driveway width by 20 feet.
A public hearing held on Jan. 9 produced no objections from residents, and the Development Commission voted 9-0 to accept the proposal, village officials said.
John Said, the assistant community development director, explained that the special-use permit was needed because of existing zoning at the site.
“The location of this facility is in a B-2 district, which is zoned as a local business district,” Said explained. “The drive-through is why it required the special-use.”
