The National Hockey League and USA Hockey will co-sponsor the 2nd annual Willie O’Ree All-Star Weekend, named after the first African-American player in the NHL. The event is designed to showcase the diversity of youth hockey programs in North America and reward outstanding young players and volunteers from these programs.
Twenty-four players ages 10 to 12, including two from Chicago, will participate.

The games will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Johnny’s Icehouse, 1350 W. Madison St.
