Police detectives were investigating allegations of a sexual assault of a teenage girl early Sunday on Chicago’s South Side.
Relatives of the 15-year-old girl told police the teen was assaulted in their home near the 9700 block of South Yale Avenue. The relatives said a group of men entered the home, terrorized the residents and kidnapped the girl.
Chicago Police spokesman Paul Jenkins said detectives were investigating only an alleged sexual assault, not a kidnapping. Jenkins would not elaborate on details surrounding the incident.
The girl was treated and released Sunday from Little Company of Mary Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
