As the parent of two teenagers living in the suburbs, I could not help but notice the collection of articles on the Feb. 28 front page:
– The drop in AIDS deaths;
– The legal DUI level;
– Expelled students (gangs);
– Teen smoking;
– Jim Thorpe’s legacy.
Whether by design or chance, virtually all of the significant issues involved related to teenagers today: Sexually transmitted diseases, smoking, alcohol/drugs, gangs/schools and minorities/discrimination/role models were covered on one front page. Is this good, bad, reflective of our times, or . . . ? I certainly don’t know, but it sure caught my attention. Thank you (I think).
