– AT THE PLATE: Ozzie Guillen singled up the middle off Willie Blair to continue a good spring. He takes a .411 batting average into the exhibition finale.

– IN THE FIELD: Shortstop Norberto Martin missed a throw from catcher Chad Kreuter on Deivi Cruz’s stolen base. It was Martin’s fifth error, matching Ray Durham’s team-leading total.

– ON THE MOUND: Both pitchers tentatively added to the Opening Day roster, right-handers Carlos Castillo and Al Levine, allowed runs during relief stints. Castillo gave up home runs to Bubba Trammell and Jason Bass.

– BELLE-THOMAS WATCH: While Frank Thomas hit his first homer of the spring, Albert Belle continued searching for his stroke. He was 0 for 3 with a strikeout, a groundout and a popup. He’s hitless in his last seven at-bats, dropping his average to .209, and hasn’t homered in 67 at-bats.
