Thornwood 12, Oak Forest 8: Dustin Benthine’s five RBIs and three hits weren’t enough to prevent the Bengals (1-1) from falling to the Thunderbirds (4-0). Thornwood scored nine runs in the first, five after two were out.
Lemont 26-6, Dwight 1-2: Katie Garling, Amy DiGregorio and Lori Chmielewski each had three hits and four RBIs in Game 1 as Lemont (2-0) knocked out 23 hits. Sue Richter added four hits and one RBI.
