One-man bank gets taken over: Unibank A/S, Denmark’s second-largest bank, said it has taken over the nation’s smallest bank — a one-man operation in Aarhus that closed April 1 when its president retired. Ove Hvede Nielsen, 75, a former farmer who took over the tiny bank in 1982 when it had two employees, said he could not pass the Borum Sparekasse bank on to his sons. Borum Sparekasse ended 123 years in business with 300 customers, 4.7 million kroner ($737,900) in deposits and 500,000 kroner ($78,500) in loans, Unibank said.
