U.S. Highway 20 is a well-traveled route between Freeport and Galena, and it needs to be expanded. The proposed freeway, however, will cost taxpayers about $100 million more than an expressway and will destroy 2,000 acres of farmland, beautiful scenery and wildlife.
Say no to the proposed freeway. Let us keep U.S. 20 and expand it to four lanes.
