Harry E. Dowell, 78, of Harvard, died Tuesday in Harvard Memorial Hospital. He was a dairy farmer in the Harvard area for many years. He was a pitcher for the McHenry Shamrocks baseball team in the 1940s. He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, David; three daughters, Nancy Yegge, Kathleen Wilhoit and Loriann Lee; a brother; a sister; and six grandchildren. Services were held Thursday in Harvard.
