Information Resources Inc. reported roughly break-even results for the first quarter–profits of $55,000–a turnaround from a loss of $2.2illion, or 8 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.

The Chicago-based provider of scanning systems for the consumer packaged-goods industry said first-quarter revenues increased 13 percent, to $105.1 million from $92.9 million.
