Memorial Day is a federal holiday. The following public services are affected:
– Schools: Schools are closed.
– Government services: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed. No garbage collection.
– Postal service: No mail delivery.
– Courts: Federal, state and county courts will be closed.
– Banks, S&Ls: All will be closed.
– Financial markets: The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Stock Exchange will be closed.
– Parking: Meters in Chicago need not be fed.
– Transit: The CTA, Metra and Pace will operate under Sunday schedules Monday.
