A Lombard bank was robbed Saturday by a gunman who fled with his loot in a 16-gallon storage container, police said.
About 6 p.m., the man entered TCF National Bank inside Cub Foods, 491 E. Roosevelt Rd. He showed a handgun to bank employees and ordered one of them to remove money from an open vault, police said.
The money was placed in a promotional storage container, and after ordering bank employees into a back room, the gunman fled.
The robber wore a yellow T-shirt, a denim jacket and a blue baseball cap, police said. Lombard police are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call 630-620-5955.
