The 1997 McHenry County Fair will feature a traditional midway, horse shows, harness racing, livestock shows, truck and tractor pulls, a demolition derby, chainsaw artists and farm contests such as cow milking and rooster crowing.
Musical groups Paul Revere and the Raiders, the Silhouettes, the Coasters, the Drifters, and the Platters will also perform.

The fair will be held Wednesday, through Aug. 3, at the county fairgrounds, Illinois Highway 47 and Country Club Road. Admission is $7.
Some highlights: 8 p.m. Thursday, Silhouettes;
8 p.m. Friday, Paul Revere and the Raiders;
10:30 a.m. Aug. 3, truck and tractor pulls;
7 p.m. Aug. 3, demolition derby.
