Thomas G. Herbst, 68, of Harvard, died Tuesday in his home. He was owner of Lewis Clarke Co., and worked as a manufacturer’s representative. Mr. Herbst was a U.S. Army veteran. He also was a member of the Harvard Knights of Columbus Post 1204, the Harvard Lions and the Peterson William Chandler American Legion Post 171 in Crystal Lake. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one son, Ken Rose; four daughters, Peggy, Anita Pickett, Lisa Gruchot and Kathy Hengstebeck; four grandchildren; and one sister. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Saunders and McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Woodstock. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard.
