Marcia E. Carlson, 64, a schoolteacher for nearly four decades, died Friday in her Chicago home after an eight-year battle with cancer. Ms. Carlson was born in Chicago on July 21, 1933. She attended Wright Junior College, where she was a member of Alpha Beta Mu sorority, and Chicago Teachers College. She received her master’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University in 1980. She worked for the Chicago Public Schools for 38 years, mainly at Patrick Henry School, where she taught several grade levels and learning disabled students. She was a member of Mayfair Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Gunther and Wendy Tenggren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Drake & Son Funeral Home, 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge.
