Robert J. Deckert, 53, a Naperville resident and Army veteran, died Saturday at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Mr. Deckert worked for 16 years as a physical designer for Lucent Technologies in Naperville. He also worked for 18 years with International Harvester, a company that builds tractors. In the 1960s, Mr. Deckert served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. In DuPage County, he was a member of the American Legion in Yorkville. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his mother, Anne; and a sister. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren in Naperville.
