Esthere Koubenec, 88, of Elgin, formerly of Batavia, died Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Born in Geneva, Mrs. Koubenec grew up in Batavia and was a 1927 graduate of Batavia High School. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and worked as a medical secretary for the Batavia Medical Clinic. Survivors include five nieces; four nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia.
