City crews were still collecting fallen tree branches from last month’s storms when weekend rain and wind dumped a fresh batch of lumber on lawns.
Village officials said residents may set out branches as necessary instead of waiting for the village’s scheduled pickup later this month.
The storm also left downed power lines, causing many homes in the Hinsbrook subdivision to lose power, City Administrator Rick Curneal said. One home was struck by lightning and another yard was hit by lightning. No injuries were reported.
