Jean M. Zinger, 97, of Wheaton, died Sunday in the Wynscape Nursing Center, Wheaton. A former Glen Ellyn homemaker, Mrs. Zinger also was an accomplished pianist. She began taking lessons as a child in Atalissa, Iowa, and then in Davenport, where she moved as a teenager. Later, she took the train each week to Chicago for lessons, according to her daughter, Ladonna Pipenhagen. A classical musician who loved Mozart, Hayden and Brahms, Mrs. Zinger gave piano lessons and played for herself, her family, at church and, in her latter years, for other residents of Wynscape. “Music was an integral part of her life,” her daughter said. Other survivors include three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church, 500 Anthony St., Glen Ellyn.
