Evelyn B. Alwin, 88, a teacher in the Matteson public school system for more than 30 years, died Monday in Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines. When she wasn’t teaching, Mrs. Alwin, who had lived in Park Ridge and Homewood, served as a librarian in the school system. She graduated from Lawrence College in Appleton, Wis. Survivors include two sons, Ronald and Rodney; a daughter, Yvonne Hack; and nine grandchildren. Services will be held Friday in Denzer, Wis.
