Call it Barnum and Brown. P.T meets James in this unique big top, where the Ringlings and the Isleys also cross paths. The UniverSoul Circus, the only African-American owned and operated circus in the United States, is at Washington Park, at 51st and Payne Drive, until Aug. 31. The troupe couples traditional circus acts such as clowns, acrobats and contortionists with funky reggae, blues, rap and soul sounds. UniverSoul performers hail from Harlem to South Africa to Trinidad. Highlights include the Ayak Brothers, who catch each other with their feet, and the King Charles Unicycle Troupe, who jump double Dutch and play basketball to hip-hop grooves. Tickets range from $8 to $30. Call Ticketmaster at 312-559-1212.
