Veronica “V.V.” Terese Cottrell, 17, of Wonder Lake, died Wednesday at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry as the result of an automobile accident. She was to begin her senior year at McHenry West High School in the fall, and was a member of its Student Council, the Spanish National Honor Society and the varsity pompon squad. Her survivors include her mother, Teresa; three brothers; one sister; and one grandmother. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Peter M. Justen Colonial Funeral Home, 3807 W. Elm St., McHenry. Visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the 11:30 a.m. mass in the Church of the Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Rd., McHenry.
