Montgomery Ward Holding Corp. won a bankruptcy judge’s approval to sell its 33 Lechmere stores for $160.7 million to an Ohio liquidator. Schottenstein Bernstein Capital Group outbid two other liquidation firms to buy Lechmere’s inventory, fixtures and real estate. The New England-based chain is losing $2.5 million a week, said David Kurtz, bankruptcy attorney representing Chicago-based Wards, which also has announced plans to close its 11 other specialty stores.
