A 13-year-old Riverdale boy apparently drowned in the Little Calumet River on Saturday, Riverdale police said.
David Little was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 6:44 p.m., a nursing supervisor said.
The teenager and two friends went to an industrial area along the south bank of the river in Riverdale, where David jumped in, police said. His friends told police he had problems swimming, and one went in after him.
They called 911 about 3:15 p.m. At 5:50 p.m., divers found David.
