The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, in conjunction with the Wauconda Fire Department, will co-sponsor a one-day household hazardous-waste cleanup collection.
Lake County residents are asked to bring in oil paint, paint remover, insecticides, weed killer, used motor oil, antifreeze, solvents, old gasoline, furniture stripper, household cleaners, hobby chemicals, fungicides, pool chemicals, aerosol products, metal polishes and old prescriptions. Items not being accepted include business waste, fireworks, smoke detectors, lead-acid batteries, propane tanks, agricultural chemicals, farm machinery oil, fire extinguishers and explosives.
