The village Plan Commission heard a request Wednesday night by Ameritech Corp. for approval of a six-story, 290,000-square-foot building to be constructed at its office campus.
The address of the new building would be 2000 Lakewood Blvd.
Construction would begin in late September and be completed by March 1999, Ameritech officials said.
The building would house several Ameritech business units and would initially be occupied by 1,000 employees.
Total occupancy of the building could eventually reach 1,700 employees, most of whom already work for Ameritech in the Chicagoland area, a Ameritech spokesman said.
Joel Stauber of OWP&P Architects in Deerfield told the commission the village would gain between $480,000 to $520,000 in tax revenues from theis project.
