The Village Board this week approved preliminary plans for a development of 154 attached single-family homes.

In a 4-2 vote, the board approved a motion to approve the preliminary plat for development of the town homes.

The village earlier this year annexed the 285-acre site, located on the west side of Illinois Highway 59 between 119th and 127th Streets. The annexation agreement provides for a maximum of 306 attached single-family homes.

The proposal by developers Pasquinelli Inc. of Homewood calls for 154 units to be built in an enclosed subdivision with through traffic. The homes would range in cost from $130,000 to $160,000.

In other business, the board rejected the first phase of the Fort Breggs Road realignment and the project was put on hold until a new plan is established.
