As hundreds of thousands of businesses resume shipping with UPS, they would be wise to remember just how vulnerable they are in relying on what is basically a monopoly. They are foolish not to give UPS’ competitors at least some of their future business to help build them up for the next time UPS workers decide to cripple America’s shipping. I hear we could get a pilot’s strike for Christmas.
Make no mistake. This mess will happen again unless we all work to build some serious competition to UPS before it holds a gun to our heads again.
