James Willard Ballenger, 87, died Thursday in Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Known as “Bud,” Mr. Ballenger was born in Montgomery, La. He had lived in Glen Ellyn for 11 years and was a former resident of La Grange. He worked for many years as an electrician for Reynolds Aluminum in McCook. Mr. Ballenger served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and worked with senior citizens at the Glen Ellyn Park District. Survivors include two sons, James and Robert, and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, Ellis and Jefferson Streets, Wheaton.
