A Chicago police officer shot an 18-year-old man Friday night after he allegedly fired at officers who were chasing him.
Tyrone Sanders, 18, was listed in fair condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center, according to a nursing supervisor.
Sanders was shot by a Harrison District officer in the 4400 block of West Maypole Avenue at about 9:20 p.m. after he allegedly shot at two tactical officers who were pursuing him, police said.
Also Friday, Nathaniel Fields, 19, of Calumet City was fatally shot while entering a car about 10 p.m. at 332 W. 109th St. in Chicago, police said.
Calumet Area detectives also were investigating the shooting death of 20-year-old Cesar Martinez of the 9300 block of South Anthony Avenue, who was shot early Saturday at 10531 S. Indianapolis Blvd., police said.
Police said Martinez was in a car at 12:10 a.m. traveling north on Indianapolis Boulevard when a passenger in another car pulled up alongside, exchanged words with Martinez and shot him.
Later Saturday, Gerald Davis, 17, of the 4800 block of South Federal Street was killed in drive-by shooting at 11:20 a.m. at 52nd and State Streets, outside the Robert Taylor Homes housing development, police said.
In a separate incident, authorities on Saturday charged Robert Aldridge, 46, of the 4400 block of West Van Buren Street with first-degree murder after his live-in girlfriend, Regina Hill, 33, was found strangled in their West Side home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
