The story by Mary Breslin about the streets of Chicago (“The long and winding road,” Transportation, Aug. 10) brought to mind this interesting bit of trivia:

Many years ago on a radio talk show, a well-known columnist was asked, “What avenue begins and ends on the same street?’ He could not answer.

Of course, it’s Elston Avenue, which begins at 825 North at Milwaukee Avenue and ends about 6100 North, also on Milwaukee Avenue.
