Microsoft network expansion: Microsoft Inc. plans to expand its Microsoft Network Internet online service, also known as MSN, by providing local phone numbers for Internet access to more than 50 new cities. A company spokesman said cities in Idaho, Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and California are scheduled to get local MSN service. Microsoft said the network expansion is being carried out in conjunction with UUNET Technologies Inc., a unit of World Com Inc.
