William C. McBride, 72, a sales representative and war veteran, died Sunday in Hines Veteran Administration Medical Center in Hines. Mr. McBride worked as a sales representative for several screw machine companies in Chicago. He was in the business for 30 years. He was born in Montreal and moved to Elmhurst in the 1960s. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Elmhurst for 37 years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 187, and he received the title of Sir Fourth Degree Knight from the Knights of Columbus Father McDonald Council No. 1911. During World War II, Mr. McBride served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Nancy Marson and Janice Adkins; one son, William Jr.; one sister; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Rd. in Elmhurst.
