Esther Swanson, 90, a longtime resident of Northbrook and Glenview, died Sunday at a nursing home in Wisconsin. A native of Aurora, Mrs. Swanson graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish. She received a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Colorado-Boulder. She taught high school English for seven years at East Aurora High School. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Banks and Linda Kennedy; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mass was said Thursday.
