Hubbard Street Dance Chicago got its start at senior citizen centers and is now admired worldwide. The company inaugurates its 20th-anniversary season this weekend with performances through Saturday at Navy Pier’s Skyline Stage.
Each performance features a presentation of David Parsons’ inimitable, goofily surreal “The Envelope,” along with Daniel Ezralow’s “Lady Lost Found,” Twyla Tharp’s “The Golden Section,” Margo Sappington’s “Mirage” and Lou Conte’s signature, “The 40s.”
Saturday’s free performance, alas, is sold out – though a few single tickets may be available last-minute at the box office. For tickets to Friday’s performance, call 312-902-1500.
