Thomas Michael Alfer, 34, of Chicago, paramedic-in-charge for the Chicago Fire Department, died Monday of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while he was off-duty. Mr. Alfer is survived by his wife, Heidi; a son, Thomas Kristopher; and his parents, Karl and Monika Alfer. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday in Theis Gorski Funeral Home, 3517-27 N. Pulaski Rd. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
