Citing “a difference in styles between me and the management,” Donald L. Maloney II confirmed Monday that Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. has replaced him as chief operating officer of its Chicago division. Sandra McRee, formerly of Columbia’s MidAmerica Group, has taken over, said Maloney, who held the job for just under a year. The shakeup was unrelated to the Illinois Department of Public Aid’s probe of Columbia billing practices, Maloney said. Crain’s Chicago Business first reported his departure.
