I had the honor of meeting the Princess of Wales a number of years ago while visiting London. I was literally speechless as she approached me to accept a small bouquet of flowers I had for her. Her kind words and pleasant smile are something I will never forget.
It may be hard for many Americans to understand what the princess meant to Anglo-Americans like myself and to the British people. She brought the British monarchy to life, she brought it down to earth and she gave it a purpose. Her devotion to the children and to the less fortunate made her a great woman, and the world has lost a true humanitarian and a beacon of kindness and hope throughout the entire world. I will miss her greatly.
