Police have arrested the son of NAACP President Kweisi Mfume after he gave them a false name while being questioned about a traffic accident.
Michael Mfume, 27, told authorities he was driving a car that was involved in a minor accident on Thursday north of Baltimore, police said. But witnesses told police the driver was another man, who is wanted on charges of attempted murder and kidnapping in Annapolis.
Police said Mfume was being held on $1,000 bail on charges that include making false statements to a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
