Carl P. Bjerkness, a resident of Arlington Heights for 19 years, died Monday in Manor Care in Rolling Meadows. Born in Chicago, Mr. Bjerkness retired as a banker with First National Bank of Chicago after 45 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He also was a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 0985 of Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Carl and Robert; a daughter, Karen Koziara; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Colette Catholic Church, 3900 Meadows Drive, Rolling Meadows.
