Chester W. Kowalczyk, 73, of Hanover Park, died Thursday in Columbia Hoffman Estates Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Mr. Kowalczyk was a 33-year employee of the railroad industry. Mr. Kowalczyk was a World War II veteran who served in the Navy Seabees. or Construction Battalion. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Fred and Bob; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. Steamwood.
