A 57-year-old Aurora man was listed in critical condition with head injuries Monday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, a day after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Hinman Street at 5th Avenue in Aurora.
Tony Espinoza, of the 700 block of 2nd Avenue, was crossing the street shortly after midnight on Sunday when a white, four-door 1980s-model Pontiac Grand Am driving east on 5th struck him.
A partial license plate reading revealed the letters “WXS,” witnesses told police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 630-859-1700.
