Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians, in the midst of contract talks, appear to be proceeding normally, with negotiations set to resume Sunday following the CSO’s four-day Midwest tour.

The most recent bargaining session, on Monday, failed to produce an agreement. Players have been without a contract since the previous labor agreement expired Sept. 14.

Following this week’s concerts in Champaign-Urbana and Ann Arbor, Mich., CSO musicians have agreed to perform a private concert Tuesday as well as the scheduled Oct. 4 gala opening concert at Symphony Center even if a new contract is not signed by then.
